9 Interesting facts about the Windows Task Manager

Typically, the Windows Task Manager is often used to terminate applications that do not meet in your program. It is very easy to do especially for a computer novice. You are right on the taskbar and select Start from the Task Manager button to open the tool. In the Processes tab, then select the application and press End Process to kill them.

Although this was the main purpose of this tool, its other interesting features are put to waste because the user is not informed. So, here are some of the uses of the unpopular Windows Task Manager (WTM) to put you in the know.

1. To see which applications consume your CPU and RAM.

When you open the WTM, go to the Processes tab. It will list all the programs running on your computer. If you click on the Memory (Private Working Set) heading, it will organize programs on the basis of its use of CPU and RAM. You can see how much memory each application expressed in kilobytes used.

2. It shows your actual use of CPU and RAM.

In the Performance tab, you'll see are charts showing CPU usage and RAM. On the left side, the bar will show how much memory is used in real time. In addition, the graphic story for CPU and physical memory. It will give you peak usage over a period of time.

3. All programs that frequently read and write to your hard drive.

Resource Monitor keeps a record of the hard disk activity of each program. The disk activity is measured in bytes per second. On the right side there is a graphical representation of the activity of the entire disc. This allows you to see if your hard drive is used with maximum speed. What is the significance of these data? If you plan to use a disk intensive program, then you may want to close other applications listed in the Media tab.

4. It measures how long you were a program.

5. It allows you to run background programs to stop.

There are times, even if you have a farm program, your memory hog the CPU, it happens. What happens is that it runs in the background. To stop the application completely, go to the Processes tab. Then, choose the substantive program and click End Process.

6. To send a message to another user.

The Users tab, all users that are connected simultaneously to the list of computers or via a remote desktop connection or local meetings. To send a message to another user, just click on the user name in the Users tab, then click Send. A dialog box opens; You can enter the message title and your message in the space provided. Finally, click OK to send the message.

7. You can organize your program window.

If you right-click the taskbar stacked Windows setup option as shown window, Cascade window and select Show the adjacent window. Task Manager, you can do it too. On the Applications tab, press and hold the CTRL key and click each program you want to be organized. After that, you can right-click on the selection of options. You can either Cascade, Tile Horizontally or Tile.

8. It monitors your network activity.

Is there a website takes too long to load? You can check Task Manager for some ideas. The Network tab, you will see Internet usage of each adapter on a percentage basis. If you see high peaks in the graphs, some applications may be too much of your Internet connection, which in turn causes your web pages load slowly consuming.

9. Find out what applications your Internet connection.

Assuming that in our scenario, to prioritize for surfing the Internet on other programs. So you have to run certain programs relevant to stop; But how will you stop this program? To do this, go to the Performance tab, click Resource Monitor. In the Network tab, applications that use the network connection are displayed.
